Fletcher Austin is the Chair of the 2019 NT Youth Round Table. Fletcher is extremely passionate about his community and is involved with the NT Emergency Services as a Training Coordinator, a NT Fire Rescue Service as a Second Responder and is an international competitor and teacher of Irish Dancing.

This year, Fletcher will to focus on building the positive image of the Territory and explore ways to improve population growth.

Emily Dollar is a motivated young woman who is passionate about fitness and sports, particularly netball and clay shooting. Since moving to the Territory 2 years ago, Emily has been quick to become involved in her school and the sporting community as a player, supporter and advocate by coaching and umpiring for her local Nightcliff Tigers Netball team.

As the Ladies Champion for Clay Shooting, Emily has a lot of experience in advocating and educating in elite sports and firearm safety.

This year, Emily wants to support her peers to achieve the best outcomes they can, support the great youth culture that is within the Territory, develop her experience and understandings of others’ views and build an awareness of firearm safety for other young Territorians.

Eric Withnall is an ambitious young man from Darwin. Eric enjoys meeting new people to hear their journey and as a lawyer, continues to support and advocate for those that need it most. His experiences have been enhanced through his volunteer role with Darwin Community Legal Service, Save Motor Launch 1321, Happy Yess Community Arts and CDU Student Association.

This year, Eric wants to showcase the success of young people in the Territory find a ways to ensure their voices are heard by Government and explore ways to maximise opportunities in the Territory.

Samuel Roussos is a dedicated young man living in Darwin who is committed to his academic studies, passionate about finance, politics and debating. He is an accomplished pianist and enjoys composing and learning new music.

Captain of the NT Debating Squad at the National Schools Debating Competition for 2019 and a member of Darwin High School’s Student Representative Council, Sam enjoys public speaking and has a way with words. Passionate about hearing the views of others, Sam is eager to ensure the voice of youth is heard clearly.

This year, Sam wants to create positive change to address the major issues affecting young people within the Territory, encourage youth engagement within politics and increase the financial literacy of young people to ensure they have a safe and stable future.

Hayden Dale is a creative young person who is passionate about learning and education, music, reading and exploring outdoors. Hayden is heavily involved with his community through his volunteer work with Junior Police Rangers and Duke of Edinburgh.

This year, Hayden is keen to make positive change within his community by becoming a positive role model, building his knowledge on Government process, being an active voice for youth and working with other like-minded young people to create change.

Pauline Papajua is a creative young woman who enjoys drawing, colouring, cooking and acting. Pauline is currently studying sports and nutrition and is passionate about health and wellbeing and encouraging positive lifestyle choices.

With her experiences with foster care, Pauline has an incredible insight to the needs of young people and has some great ideas on how support networks can best support young people in care to succeed in life.

This year, Pauline would like to build her knowledge and further develop skills in leadership problem solving and organisation so that she can continue to be a strong advocate for young people who are involved with the Foster Care System.

Benjamin Angstmann is an aspiring leader within his community through his involvement in Naval Cadets, school debating, boot camp program and as the 2019. Benjamin is the Nhulunbuy High School Captain Benjamin is well connected to his community and strives to experience anything he can to improve his leadership skills.

Ben is passionate about building a better future and working towards change within schools to better support students and their education.

This year, Ben wants to find ways to support a positive future for the Territory and is interested in how the use of technology and the investment in innovation can support the development of a better future.

Emma Angstmann is a driven and passionate young woman from Nhulunbuy who wants to encourage positive mindsets in young people in the area of physical health, mental health and exercise. Emma has huge involvement within her community in leadership roles through her Vice-Captain role within the Student Representative Council, Country to Canberra program, Duke of Edinburgh and fitness activities for her peers.

A strong advocate for young women, Emma is passionate about gender equity, feminist issues and education.

This year, Emma wants to be part of the loud and proud voices of young people of the Territory and how she can be the best leader to drive the Territory and Australia into a better future

Tahlia Gronn-Nolan is a positive young woman living in Nhulunbuy who is passionate about the environment and reducing pollution. Tahlia enjoys dancing, surf lifesaving, football, basketball and other outdoor activities and does what she can to support the environment by cleaning up the beaches in Nhulunbuy.

This year, Tahlia wants to build her leadership skills and find ways to encourage respect between people, promote cultural awareness and healthy wellbeing in young people of the Territory.

Isabel Blundell is the Vice Chair for the 2019 NT Youth Round Table. Isabel is a youth advocate who values cultural diversity and being part of the change that you want to see. Through her various leadership roles within the Student Representative Council, local Youth Group and her Duke of Edinburgh experiences, Isabel strives to work with young people to make sure they feel respected and their opinions are heard.

Isabel’s incredible life experiences have led to her developing the understanding of the importance of building relationships with others and hearing their stories. Isabel aims to build on developing relationships with key organisations, departments and Territory leaders to support her journey in supporting and empowering young people within the wider community, especially in East Arnhem.

Mitchell Ford is a young Territorian living in Katherine who is an ambassador for mental health, and is passionate Mitchell’s passions surround raising awareness around mental health and suicide as well as fitness through sports, gym and boxing. In his journey to raise awareness of Mental Health and Suicide, Mitchell created a clothing line labelled “PRVT Apparel” while completing Year 11.

This creation was influenced by Mitchell’s own experience to suicide when he lost his best friend to suicide. Mitchell would like the opportunity to work with the Round Table

This year, Mitchell wants to further build mental health and suicide awareness as well as share his story within schools across the Territory and to share that “It’s okay not to be okay, you can be helped. It can get better”. Mitch wants to support young people to speak up about their experiences and stand together in supporting one another to make it through their toughest times.

Tahnita is a young Aboriginal woman from Katherine who works and supports young people in the region through her role as a Youth Worker at the YMCA

Tahnita enjoys helping others, connecting with young people, reading and cooking.

Tahnita can see firsthand the challenges young people in the region face such as youth homelessness, domestic violence, offending and youth prostitution and wants to be part of the change. Tahnita is passionate around young people having positive role models to look up to, so that they can make good choices.

This year, Tahnita wants to build greater awareness and provide education to young people around alcohol and other drugs and sexual health, so that they can see their opportunities and strive to be the best version of themselves that they can be.

Tshanka Storey is a strong Aboriginal woman from Tennant Creek who is passionate about her community and finding ways to encourage her peers to pursue education and leadership opportunities.

Tshanka has been heavily involved within the Barkly Region through Youth Leadership Groups, as a peer Educator through Young, Deadly and Free (Sexual Health program) and through her work as an Aboriginal Health Promotions Officer.

This year, Tshanka aims to build her skills in becoming an advocate for Indigenous Human Rights, an aspired voice for her community and to find ways to encourage young people to engage with their high school education to ensure that the young people of Tennant Creek have access to the best opportunities possible for their futures.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Tshanka Storey has chosen to step down from Round Table for 2019. Office of Youth Affairs would like to wish Tshanka all the best during her year in 2019 and hope to see her again soon

Hannah Maljcov is an active member of the Alice Springs community with a passion for volunteering.

Hannah sits on various boards as a committee member including Headspace Youth Reference Group, Pitchi Richi Restoration Committee, Amnesty International and the local Community Garden Committee.

This year, Hannah would like to share her experiences as a young person living in Alice Springs, engage with her peers so that they feel validated and heard and showcase the good stories of young people across the Territory

Sean Xiao is an inspirational young person living in Alice Springs. Sean is an active member within his community in various roles such School Captain, student voice and volunteer for his local youth Sunday School

Sean is passionate about fitness, advocating for young people and finding solutions to make his community a better place for everyone.

This year, Sean would like to build his knowledge on government and develop leadership skills, confidence and social awareness so that he can be the best role model for his peers and support a better future for the youth of the Territory.

Augustine Gapinski is a positive young woman within Alice Springs who is passionate about making her community a better place for her peers and families. Augustine is very active member within her community through her time volunteering with Landcare, the Old Timers Village and the Duke of Edinburgh.

Not satisfied with simply living in the world, Augustine wants to change it and make a difference through any way she can.

This year, Augustine wants to empower young people to love themselves and their bodies because they are perfect the way they are.

Enoch Strickland is a young man who is passionate about improving cultural understanding in Alice Springs. Enoch is of Chinese and Taiwanese descent. He is involved in the Alice Springs community through the Alice Springs Chinese Dumpling Festival, a Teen Team Leader at the Alice Springs Baptist Church and a public speaker at a Youth Camp Fundraising Event.

Enoch has a strong passion for politics and he is keen to build his knowledge to encourage positive change for a better future for people in Australia.

This year, Enoch would like to build his skills in understanding the views of others, be a positive role model, inspire his peers to take the opportunities to better the community and look at ways to develop new economic opportunities in Alice Springs.
