For a young person, retirement must seem like light years away! There is help at hand to get you into the swing of saving.

The super co-contribution is intended to help eligible people boost their retirement savings. If you are a low or middle-income earner and make personal (after-tax) super contributions to your super fund, the government also makes a contribution (called a co-contribution) up to a maximum amount ($500).

The Australian Taxation Office now has a section on its website that includes background information about the Super Co-Contribution initiative and how you can take advantage of this initiative.
